Bird Linocut Print

 

Summary
Students explored some of the art elements Line and Texture. Students created a drawing of birds, cropped a circle composition using a view finder and then set about carving the lino. 
Students gained valuable skills and techniques in hand carving, safe handling of equipment and an understanding of the printing process.

Context of VCAA:

The Visual Arts curriculum aims to develop students’:

  • Visual arts techniques, materials, processes and technologies

  • Critical and creative thinking, using visual arts languages, theories and practices to apply aesthetic judgment

  • Confidence, curiosity, imagination and enjoyment and a personal aesthetic through engagement with visual arts making, viewing, discussing, analysing, interpreting and evaluating.

 

Aims/Objectives 

At the end of the project students will have:

  • An expanded knowledge of Art Elements

  • Technical skills in linocut artwork – As an Artist Maker
