VCE Unit 2 Folio: Artwork Generation

Art, Science and the Human Body

 

Students were given the broad theme Art, Science and the Human Body. The intersection of art and science - how artists have used the human body to explore concepts in science.

 

As a class we explored 6 main artists that had connections with the theme; Leonardo Da Vinci; Patricia Piccininni; Sir Antony Gormley; Chuck Close; Stelarc; Ricky Swallow. Students then developed and explored concepts related to the theme and over 6 weeks produced their folio process work and their final pieces.

Students were challenged intellectually by the theme and as a result the folios and artworks showed great direction and immense growth.
