 Cardboard Maquette Sculpture - Scale and Balance -

 

Summary

Students explored and expanded their knowlege of the art principles, Scale and Balance, and created a cardboard Maquette Sculpture, after inspiration from the HARD EDGE sculpture exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Curriculum context

Context of VCAA:

The Visual Arts curriculum aims to develop students’:

  • Visual arts techniques, materials, processes and technologies

  • Critical and creative thinking, using visual arts languages, theories and practices to apply aesthetic judgment

  • Confidence, curiosity, imagination and enjoyment and a personal aesthetic through engagement with visual arts making, viewing, discussing, analysing, interpreting and evaluating.

 

Aims/Objectives 

At the end of the project students have:

  • An expanded knowledge of Art Principles in relation to 3D composition

  • Extended Art language knowledge

  • Begun to create their own 3D artwork – As an Artist Maker

  • Extended skills in cardboard construction
